Barrel versus Bottle

Now I ask you plain which is the poor relation? Barrel beer or bottle? And before you say I know the answer stop awhile and hear me bcos it’s not untrue for any of my favourite British ales including Hook Nortons of Banbury and Mauldons of Suffolk! Let’s investigate the claim

🍺🍺 I’d assume the bottle variation is a drab dab of the barrel but this is not at all as straightforward as it seems and I’d add Harvey’s of Lewes and many other beloved ancient breweries in this discussion!
